Does BetfaiR work with the new JSON-based, REST API?

Hi,

Can anyone advise if BetfaiR works with the new JSON-based, REST API?

I am currently reading Automated Exchange Betting (which lead me to this site).

Being new to programming, I was wondering if I should start to learn Perl as detailed in the book, or start with R.

If BetfaiR does work with the new API-NG, then it would make sense to start with R.
