Hi - the database contains in-running comments for each horse which are the basis of pace statistics.  Since the database is designed to be easy to use for programming (everything is in MySQL), it's easy to pull the in-race comments and score them for leader, lagger and hold up statistics on each horse.  You can adjust this for distance and course too.

An example of pace statistics that can be generated is posted for each day's racing, a day in advance, at the following URL:

http://www.betwise.co.uk/leaders_and_laggers.txt

All these stats have been generated by a program working automatically with the daily and historic tables in Smartform, using in race comments.
