i would like to compose a system concentrating on 1st/2nd favourites in specific races

i have done some initial researchmanually with past results over 5 years for certain months of the year  but would like to automate the process

Easy enough to automate in principle.  The book on the website or the free BetfaiR manual will give you an idea of how to go about this if you're willing to learn a bit of programming.
