Hi,

The legacy speed ratings are still updated for subscriber's use and information but we have been working on our own speed ratings for every runner in every race using a repeatable method that is correct up to and including every historical and upcoming race.  This has been in testing for several months and we are hoping to release it as a new database table accessible to all monthly subscribers in the New Year.

In the meantime, the legacy ratings are generally too strict with course standard times, so often a race or runner receives a negative rating if it is too slow against the legacy standards.  There are more accurate ways of assessing standard times which we have implemented with the new speed ratings, however there is still some value in the legacy ratings and you can use them as you wish.
