I'm considering subscribing to database access for horseracing data and current card data. I wish to try before I buy. Is this possible?

Hi - we provide the whole databse rather than free samples, however if you are familiar with using MySQL (or connecting to a MySQL database) then the database is as any other MySQL database.  The initial subscription gives you all 22 years' horseracing data (form and results) for UK and Ireland plus daily updates for one month, with an automated updates program for results and upcoming racecards form and history.

To see what data is available in the database and the database schemas available, please see the following:

The reason for asking for a sample (as I was also searching for one); The database fields do give some insight to the content of the database, and I can't imagine betwise slacking in the quality of the data provided, however, it is just due diligence to to want to qualify the quality of the data. Simply grab a random race, change the names, change the times.. and there, you have a sample. Nobody is after "free" stuff (anymore than usual right;)...
Hi, many thanks for your comments.  The problem is not giving out some days or months of data for free, but when we have done this in the past we have had to produce lots of different custom samples - so if we put up May 2025, someone else may want last month, or 3 months etc.  We operate practically at cost and keep the price of the database low (still £200 for 20 years of data) for racing/ data enthusiasts so can't really afford custom sales cycles.  Our subscribers tend to stay with us for many years which says something about the data quality, moreover it's all properly licensed from official sources not "scraped".  Happy to answer any questions about the schemas or improve our documentation if that is not clear however.
