Race distances incorrect ?

In the last few weeks I have noticed that the daily and historic race distances have many discrepancies.

For example,

Bev 4/8/20   both 15.00 and 15.30 races. Daily distance was 1636 yds   Updated distance is incorrect at 1540 yds ? This is no good at all for any sort of analysis.

Help would be appreciated

Thanks for the question - the daily race distance is correct in this and most other cases where you may see any discrepancies - ie. the official declared distance in advance is 7f 96y or 1636 yards in this case.  

What looks to have happened is that the extra yards have been truncated in the historic update, so you have the nearest furlong (ie. 7 furlongs = 1540 yards) not the exact distance.  This comes directly from the official feed providers so we're looking into why this has happened in this case, and you can also expect the distances to be updated in the beta database for historic runners before final release.  But usually the daily runners is the primary source if you see any discrepancy.
